The name on the back of your boat really makes a statement about
who you are. So renaming a boat takes more thought than one might imagine.
After endlessly searching we decided on the name Twelve
Stones which is based on a Biblical story. In the Book of Joshua we
are told the story of the Israelites crossing the Jordan River. The day before
they crossed the river Joshua told them "....tomorrow the Lord will do
amazing things among you." (Joshua 3:5). The next morning the Lord stopped
the flow of the water & everyone crossed. After they crossed God had 12
men, one from each tribe, take a stone from the river & place them on the
bank of the river.
They asked God why did you have us do this. God said they are
memory stones. Placed there as a reminder of Gods awesome power, His many
blessings, and that He is always with us.
We don’t want to ever
forget the many blessings God has given us & continues to give us. The name
we selected for our boat, Twelve Stones, is our
reminder.
