We left the dock today and are anchored on Murphy Creek off the St. Johns River.  Grilled out some burgers and just sitting back enjoying the peace and quiet.

Tucked in at the dock which gives us a chance to catch up on chores.

At anchor on Doctors Lake:  Last night we had bad rain and lightening. Before we went to bed Russ had to bilge out the dingy. We set the alarm for 3:30am to check it again. But the rain stopped around 1:30am so no need to get up.

This morning the water is calm and the boat traffic very light. Not anything like it was the last time we anchored here. We practically have the lake all to ourselves.

A cool morning anchored on Black Creek.

We left our home dock this morning and successfully anchored at Doctors Lake. The weather around us is rainy and we can hear some thunder off in the distance. We have all the windows open and the breeze is so nice. Thats just one of the perks of being on anchor.

All repairs done!

Well we have managed to get all the issues we encountered last trip fixed: generator, depth finder, head#1, and reverse gear all working. Think we will try and head out Friday for a few days of anchor.

Our time on anchor has come to an early end. Since leaving the dock yesterday we have had one thing after another malfunction.  I was told this was the way of boat life...hum.

But we did at least get away for one night and there is nothing better than waking up on the hook. Its a beautiful morning. Life is good!

We finally left the Green Cove dock YEA! We had a couple of new things added to the boat some are working some arent.  So we will be back at the dock on Monday. Oh well, thats okay because for now we are on 'the  hook' so its all good.

Although its 98 we are able to open all the windows and not use a/c. So nice.

Dock Time

We have been at our home dock for a week & we are counting the days until we can push off. The weather is holding us up but if all goes according to plan we hope to get out of here this coming weekend for a few days.

While at the dock we have met a great couple Winnie & Wayne aboard the BlueMax. They have years of experience on the water & we hope to gleam some of their knowledge. Winnie has already showed us how to play the game "Mexican Train" which apparently is a must to know when boating. LOL. They are waiting to be pulled out for a paint job so we hope to meet up with them sometime in September.

Life at the dock has consisted of watching hundreds of sailboats being pulled out for the summer months. Running the wheels off our truck since there are no wheels and Walmart trips while on the river. And as always the continual 'honey- do list' & chores.

Blessings my friends and family,
Elaine and Russ
